What Does the following uterine Ultrasound Result Indicate?

I m 67 years old. I had a ultrasound and the report says I have a thickening of the endometrium, the endometrium is markedly prominent and heterogeneous, measured 15mm in antero-posterior dimension, likely containing intrauterine growth. The ovaries are not seen bilateraly. No fluid is seen in pelvis / cul-de-sac. No suspicious lesion identified. My doctor recommended a biopsy. What does it mean? what should I do?

Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Endometrial thickness of more than 4 mm in a postmenopausal female can be due to emdometrial hyperplasia or endometrial or uterine carcinoma.
In this situation, endometrial or uterine biopsy should be done to confirm the diagnosis by histopathological examination and get appropriate treatment timely.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
